  • Our asbestos abatement crews are trained and certified.
  • Regulated systems (gas, plumbing, sprinkler and steam) are isolated, tested and reconnected by tradespeople holding the required BC certification, before and after abatement.

How we work

  1. Assess

Site walk-through and review of the hazardous materials survey from your independent hazmat consultant, with a clear approach and timeline.

  2. Plan

Containment, sequence and schedule planned with you, to limit disruption to the rest of the building and the trades that follow.

  3. Contain

Restricted work areas, negative-pressure enclosures with HEPA filtration and decontamination for high-risk work.

  4. Remove and dispose

Removal by trained and certified asbestos workers; manifested hazardous waste disposal, with recycling where possible.

  5. Clear and close out

Your independent hazmat consultant carries out clearance air testing where required; we build it into the schedule and provide closeout documentation as the project requires.

Closeout documentation for your records

Closeout documentation is provided as required by the project, such as a scope summary, air results from your hazmat consultant (as needed), waste manifests and worker certifications, for your records, procurement and insurer. Bowfinn keeps its asbestos records – risk assessments, inspections, air-monitoring results, worker training records and incident reports – for at least 10 years, as OHS Regulation s. 6.32 requires.

Insurance

Insurance certificates available on request.
